PAYMENTS

How will you pay me?

We payout via PayPal or AlertPay.

Payments are made automatically once per month, providing you have reached the minimum withdrawal amount of $5.00.

To ensure your payment is correct and on time, please go to:

http://adf.ly/account.php

and enter your PayPal or AlertPay email address in the Withdrawal section.

What happens if I don't earn enough to be paid?

If you do not happen to earn the minimum amount to be paid this month, do not worry. Your earnings will be carried over until the next month or until you have made the minimum amount. It doesn't matter if it's next month or next year.

Why has PayPal refused my payment?

Some payments we send every month get 'refused' by PayPal. There are many reasons for this but normally it is because accounts in your country cannot accept payments, only send.

If this happens to you, the best thing to do is contact PayPal. They will be able to inform you of the exact reason.

Payments that are refused by PayPal are returned to us, it can be instant or it can take around 30 days. As soon as the funds are returned to us, they are placed back in your adf.ly account so that next month you can make alternative arrangements (try AlertPay) and hopefully we will be able to make a successful payment.

It's payment day, where's my money?

On the payment day (first Monday of the month) we will pay your PayPal or AlertPay account at some point up until 23:59 GMT.

This may not necessarily be the same time zone as you. Please see:

greenwichmeantime

For the current time in GMT.

Another reason maybe that you have not earned the minimum amount the previous month.

For example, if it is the 7th November 2011, the payment will be for October 2011.

Lots of people contact us saying they have earned $5.00, where is the payment? When in fact last month they had not - unfortunately when this happens you will have to wait until the next payment date.
RULES

You may click on your own AdF.ly links 1 time to test them.

You may not create links solely to 'test'.

Can I ask people to click on my links to earn money?

No, the user must click on your adf.ly links because they wish to get to the destination website - not because they are asked or forced to.

You may not offer ANY incentive for a user to click on an AdF.ly link other than the destination link content.

For example, you cannot award points, a bonus or money.

Can AdF.ly links be opened in a popup?

No this is not allowed.

AdF.ly links cannot be opened automatically in a popup or automatically redirected to in any way.

The only legitimate way to open an AdF.ly link is for one your visitors to click on the actual link.

Can I shrink websites that contain adult material?

You may not shrink website URLs that contain or link to adult material.

This is deemed as anything that is not suitable to someone under the age of 18 and is at our discretion.

If you are unsure, please contact us first.

AdF.ly is opening on my computer!

The reason for this is because you have spyware installed on your PC, and it is this software that is displaying our site. It could be in a pop-up or automatically opened window. We do not allow our publishers to do this and if caught they will not get paid.

Please install and run Spybot-S&D:

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

This may be able to remove it. You can also try:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/

They are both free software.

If you can go to:

http://www.whatsmyip.org/

and copy-and-paste your IP address, we may be able to trace which of our publishers is responsible for this software and suspend their account.

SERVICE

How does this work?
AdF.ly is an innovative service that allows you to earn money from each visitor to your shortened links. How this works is actually quite simple.

  1. Create an account with AdF.ly by clicking the Join button on our homepage (adf.ly), make sure you select a Publisher account.

  1. You will then need to check your email for our confirmation, please follow the instructions in the email.

  1. Login to your new AdF.ly account.

  1. Enter your favourite website in the big white box and click Shrink! Your first AdF.ly URL will be displayed and will look something like http://adf.ly/A

Now that you have an AdF.ly URL that is associated with your account, the work begins.

You will now be paid for every person that clicks on your AdF.ly link, so you need to give it maximum exposure. The easiest way is if you already own a website, you can 'shrink' URLs already on your website and replace them with AdF.ly links. Then your website visitors click on them, you will earn money.

It doesn't matter if you don't own a website, there are plenty of other ways to get people clicking on your AdF.ly links (without spamming!). Here a few ideas:

  1. Forums. If you are helping people out on a forum and giving them the answers they require, shrink any website URLs with AdF.ly and then include them in your post. Be absolutely sure you are not spamming though, otherwise you get your account suspended. Always abide by the forum rules.

  1. Twitter. Do you have a Twitter with lots of followers? AdF.ly is perfect for tweeting links that will earn you money.

  1. Anywhere you normally post links! Use your imagination and paid by us every month.

  1. (Facebook banned AdF.ly links)

How much can I earn?

This all depends on how many people click on your links.

Earning potential is limitless, and grows even further with our referral program which pays 20% of all of your referral's earnings for LIFE!

Will my shortened links ever expire?

Currently shortened links have no expiry date. This may change in the future but plenty of notice will be given.

Will I be credited for multiple link views?

Yes, you can.

It does depend on how many advertisers we currently have on the system at that time and also other factors relating to fraud prevention.

We aim for the visitor to be credited at least once in a 24 hour period.

The most views you can be credited off one visitor in 24 hours is 5.

REVIEW PROCESS

How long does it take to review my advert?

The review process takes up to 72 hours, please allow this amount of time before contacting us.

On average it takes less than 24 hours but this is not guaranteed.

How do I update my campaign URL?

To update a campaign URL, please follow these instructions:

1. Click 'more details' by the campaign you wish to update.
2. Click on the pencil icon.
3. Enter the new URL you wish to update to.
4. Click the Update button.

The website will now go in to the review process to be looked at by a member of our team shortly.

ADVERTISING

Can I limit the amount I spend per day?

Yes you can.

You can set a Daily Budget, this will ensure you will not spend more than you wish a day.

It requires a monetary value, so if your campaign was Worldwide at $1 CPM and you wanted to get 100 visitors a day, you would set your Daily Budget to $0.10

Please do not confuse a Daily Budget with repeat payment. The advertising payments are manually made by yourself and we cannot automatically take any money from your PayPal account.

Setting a Daily Budget also ensures your traffic is evenly spread out over 24 hours and not sent in a very short time period.

To set the Daily Budget in your account, please click ‘show details’ by the campaign. Then enter a figure next to Daily Budget: and finally, click the Update button.

What is frame breaking?

A frame breaking script is a piece of code on a website that will make sure that it is the frame showing.

It's probably best to show some examples. Google doesn't break frames, as can be seen here:

http://adf.ly/preview.php?url=http://www.google.com

Our AdF.ly header remains intact.

The following site does break frames:

http://adf.ly/preview.php?url=http://67216833.perfectgiftplan.net

So you can how the user cannot click the Skip Ad button and continue to their intended destination.

You can use the above URL to test your adverts before you submit them if you are not sure if they break frames.

What is the conversion code for?

The conversion code can be optionally be placed on a 'thank you' page to allow you to track how many conversions your adf.ly traffic has made.

For example, you are advertising a site that gives away a free ebook on making money on the Internet. You would place the conversion code on the 'thank you' page displayed after the user has submitted their email address.

Now if you multiple sources of traffic you will know exactly how many of the conversions are from AdF.ly

Why has my campaign stopped?

The first thing to check is that you haven't reached your Daily Budget.

Click 'show details' by your campaign and check the amount set.

Then check the Total you have spent today and see if they match, if they do, you will need to either increase your Daily Budget or wait until tomorrow for more traffic.

Another might be that your website has been Declined or Pending. Please check the Status of your campaign in the top right corner.

If none of these apply to you, please contact us.

How to increase / top up traffic to an existing campaign?

The process is basically the same as ordering a new campaign but you don’t need to wait for the approval process again.

Please log in and go to:

http://adf.ly/advertising.php

Enter the traffic you wish to purchase.

On the following page, please select your existing website from the dropdown list and continue to pay via AlertPay or PayPal.

The traffic should be added to your campaign instantly.

Where are the hits coming from and how they generated? Is it real visitors?

Yes, they are real people; the visitors are coming from all over the Internet.

Forums, blogs, Twitter, Facebook, to name a few places.

We suggest you track the visitors yourself by using a service such as Google Analytics.

Why is my campaign is not running?

There are a number of reasons for this.

First, please ensure you have confirmed your PayPal / AlertPay email address on our system. When you login to your account you will be presented with a message such as:

For fraud prevention we need to confirm your AlertPay or PayPal email address. Please check your inbox/junk/spam folders for our email containing instructions.

Second, check if you have ‘Day Targeting’ enabled. Click ‘show details’ by the campaign and ensure all days of the week are checked.

Third, see if your ‘Daily Budget’ has been reached. Click ‘show details’ by the campaign and check the amount set. Then compare this to the amount spent under the ‘Today’ column.

If none of these fix the problem, please contact us with the Campaign Reference.

How can I get more visitors to my campaign?

When you are not receiving as many visitors to your campaign as you would like, we have the Traffic Booster. This allows you to optionally increase your CPM bid on each campaign.

The highest CPM bid receives the most traffic. You can check your current position and/or modify your CPM by clicking the little configuration icon next to your campaign.

For example, you have a Worldwide campaign and would like more visitors. The current default CPM for Worldwide is $1.00, if you were to increase this to $1.20 you would receive significantly more visitors to your campaign.

The Traffic Booster is optional, it can be enabled and disabled at any time.

Why is my account 'temporarily suspended'?

If PayPal is investigating one of your payments, we will automatically suspend your AdF.ly account.

This is done is order to protect ourselves from potential fraud and charge backs. Not every investigation is fraudulent though and we want to restore your account as soon as possible.

In order for us to do this, we need confirmation from PayPal that you are indeed the PayPal account holder. The only way we know this is if PayPal transfer the funds back to our account and the investigation is complete.

To ensure this happens as quickly as possible,

1. Please contact PayPal (by phone is best) and explain that one of your transactions is being investigated.
2. Give them the information they require in order to prove you are the real account holder and the transaction is genuine.
3. Wait for confirmation from PayPal that the transaction is no longer being reviewed and has been returned to x19 Limited (AdF.ly).
4. Contact us to inform us that the transaction is no longer being reviewed and that we can lift the suspension on your account.

If you cannot get PayPal to return the funds to us, we have no choice but to presume that the transaction was indeed fraudulent and your AdF.ly account will be terminated.

Why does Google Analytics count less traffic than you?

There are few reasons this can happen. First, please ensure you have given Google Analytics enough time to update. We recommend a clear 24 hours after our traffic has finished.

The 2nd thing to look at, is the speed and size of your campaign page. Does the Google Analytics code get triggered within the 5 seconds before our Skip Ad button is shown? If not - people will be skipping your advert before GA counts them.

Another thing to check is how fast your page is loading, especially under demand if you have ordered a large campaign and are receiving a lot of visitors. It might be fine when the campaign is paused but resume the campaign and you might see your webpage speed decline rapidly. Again, if your website is displaying or loading very slowly, the 'Skip Ad' button will appear before the GA code is triggered.

Another thing to check is the location of your GA code, it should be located just before the closing tag on your page. If it is in the for example - this will delay the trigger of the code by potentially a long time (depending on the size of your page and what else it is loading
